Artist's Description
I love my Henry 45-70 All Weather. I love the sheer flexibility of the 45-70 round as well especially with Buffalo Bore ammunition. For smaller game, like a 200 pound mule deer the Buffalo Barnes all copper hollow points will drop them where they stand. If perchance you need to stop a rogue bull elephant the 500 grain penetrator will do the trick. (Also handy for a charging grizzly.)
The image above has both of those rounds in the image both ready to fire and after a trip into or through a five gallon bucket of when beach sand. The 350 grain Buffalo Barnes pancaked to trice its original diameter and stopped in the first bucket. The 500 grain FMJ went through the first and most of the way through the second before coming to a stop.
About JC Findley
A little about me: I was raised a military brat and lived all around the US growing up. I went to Auburn University then joined the Air Force upon graduation. In the Air Force I flew B-1B bombers, T-37 and T-38 trainers, KC-135s and taught counter terrorism CQC defensive tactics for aircrews. I retired from the Air National Guard after 21 years of service. I was also an airline pilot for Midwest Airlines where I flew DC-9s, MD-80s and Boing 717s. All of Midwest's flight-crews were outsourced in 2008 and now I make my living selling art and various other jobs in the Dallas Fort Worth area. A little about art: Like many photographers I received my first camera as a gift at some ridiculously young age. Like many I am passionate...
