Per Wikipedia: Portrait photography or portraiture is photography of a person or group of people that captures the personality of a subject by using effective lighting, backdrops, and poses. A portrait picture might be artistic, or it might be clinical, as part of a medical study. Frequently, portraits are commissioned for special occasions, such as weddings or school events. Portraits can serve many purposes, from usage on a personal Web site to display in the lobby of a business.

SUPERB !! Sarah, YOU are a master at portraits. WE love this "Virginia 2" image. It is easy to see "Hard Times" written all over this lady's face. Sad to say it has been the path of some many. You captured the message perfectly with your photograph. This is the work of a true pro. VERY well done. (L/F) Bill & Deb Hayes

So beautiful. These wonderful portraits really make you wonder what someone's life has been and is, now. One thing my grandma told me was, "I've earned every wrinkle." Thank you for sharing Virginia. Sometimes, you don't NEED words. l/f
Sarah Loft replied:
Thank you, Laura! This is a portrait of my mother. She died this past November with all seven of her children and numerous grandchildren present.

I love portraits. Above I can see an masterpiece close-portrait, besides this, you used sepia. I think that you are a fantastic person...Here in Brazil I would like to make a series with citizen portraits like yours, but I'm afraid about that...F/V!!!
Sarah Loft replied:
Thanks, Beto! You should definitely do portraits. Brazil is much like the US in variety of peoples... except that Brazilians are better looking overall. :)
