Description
We Have More In Common
Race and ethnicity suddenly seem to matter again and that is a scary thought on many levels. The reality is we have far more in common than we have differences. Privilege is something that many seem to associate with one’s complexion but has far more to do with the circumstances one is born into. A person born into poverty or the working class has more to overcome than one born into wealth with the proverbial silver spoon.
This image shows nothing more than concrete statues all moving towards a day work. Most are exactly the same except for the random color variations placed on them by their creator. Does the color of the statue matter? Are they not all far more alike than they are different? Underneath they are all the same aside from some nicks and scars they have received since their creation and some minor individual differences that stem from being formed.
When will we the people of this planet understand that we are all far more similar than we are different?
